EdgeOhio Adds Capabilities and Staff

CLEVELAND, Ohio, September 9, 2009-- EdgeOhio, the Cleveland-based affiliate of Edge Learning Institute (Tacoma, Wash.), has added to its staff in anticipation of increased emphasis on organizational resilience and corporate productivity. With the hiring of Aaron Ziff, Edge’s Cleveland office now employs four, and anticipates more hires in 2010.

Ziff joins Edge in the position of Senior Partner, Business Development and Surveys, a newly created role. EdgeOhio Managing Partner Paul Meshanko says Ziff will not only serve as the firm’s primary contact for new clients, but will also refine its employee survey tools for collecting and evaluating employee engagement and respectful workplace metrics. “Our clients are more interested in ‘people’ metrics than ever before. Not only do they want to gauge how their employees feel about their workplace now, but also what the effects are of their improvement efforts and how it impacts business results. With the addition of Aaron to our staff, we are even better positioned to serve this need,” says Meshanko.

Ziff holds a B.A. in Psychology from YeshivaUniversity in New York and an M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Akron. He was most recently a Senior Organizational Analyst at Timken in Canton. Previously he was a Client Development Consultant at HR Consultancy Watson Wyatt Worldwide in Cleveland. “Aaron is the first person we’ve had at Edge who comes with a very strong HR and consulting background’” says Meshanko. “He will be immediately able to engage both current and prospective clients in discussions about their organizations’ challenges and where improvements in cultural metrics will have the greatest impact. Aaron’s past experience with developing and administering employee survey tools will help us strengthen this area of our business into a core competency.”

Ziff’s interest in joining Edge stems from his strong background in organizational psychology and employee development. “I have taught much of the same type of material offered by Edge and am passionate about the results it has on both for-profit and non-profit organizations,” said Ziff. “It’s an exciting time to be joining,” he said. “Edge is poised to enhance its reputation as a regional and national leader in creating more productive work environments. People assets and cultural competencies are more important than ever as the country emerges from recession.”

According to Meshanko, Ziff will handle several functions within Edge that were previously handled by himself. “I recruited Aaron specifically so I can spend more time both with current clients and on the strategic aspects of our business. Based on a surprising number of new inquiries from large employers, I’m confident that we will grow significantly in 2010 and I expect Aaron to play a key role in developing new ways to serve our clients.”
