EDGEOHIO AND NEWMEASURES ANNOUNCE MARKETING AGREEMENT
CLEVELAND, Ohio, September 14, 2007 -- EdgeOhio, the Cleveland-based division of Edge Learning Institute (Tacoma, Wash.), and Newmeasures, Inc., a nationwide employee survey company based in Boulder, Colo., have announced a joint agreement to market and refer clients to each other.
Newmeasures and EdgeOhio have been partnering for five years on programs that help companies identify and address cultural and leadership barriers to improving business performance. According to EdgeOhio’s Managing Partner Paul Meshanko, “this agreement formalizes what we’ve been doing informally for years. While Newmeasures takes the pulse of client organizations through its proprietary assessment tools, EdgeOhio offers intervention options that help improve identified problem areas through our broad range of leadership development programs, employee engagement workshops, and employee communications services.”
Newmeasures President and Chief Executive Officer Diane Fassel, Ph.D., is no stranger to EdgeOhio programs and the results they generate. “We’ve discovered a direct and positive relationship between EdgeOhio’s Improving Human Effectiveness (IHE) program and employee satisfaction. In one case, the percentage of employees who rated their company’s overall effectiveness favorably improved by over 20 points for those who had participated in the IHE workshop,” says Fassel. “Our Core 16 survey hones in on the one or two ‘climate’ variables with the most powerful statistical linkage to employees’ overall perception of their organization’s effectiveness, and now our partnership with EdgeOhio will allow us to offer tools and strategies to improve those areas.”
Newmeasures has over one million survey responses in its database, so benchmarking between companies and industries on various aspects of the survey provides even more guidance. “This lets our clients see how they rank compared to other organizations,” says Fassel. Once leaders know where their organization is and what their strongest points of leverage are, they are far better equipped to take the appropriate corrective actions. That’s where EdgeOhio enters the equation. “Our network of solution providers includes experts in leadership development, employee engagement, diversity, coaching, process improvement, and employee communications. Once Newmeasures provides the diagnosis, we work with the client to map out strategies to not only improve scores, but ultimately, increase employee retention, customer satisfaction, and other business performance metrics” said Meshanko.
This new agreement will help EdgeOhio and Newmeasures broaden their offerings and benefit from greater marketing exposure. It also provides a one-stop client solution for identifying and improving cultural obstacles that prevent companies from reaching their full business potential.

EDGEOHIO OFFERS NEW COURSE FOR IMPROVING EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT
CLEVELAND, Ohio, May 15, 2007 -- EdgeOhio, the Cleveland-based division of Edge Learning Institute (Tacoma, Wash.), has announced the offering of a condensed version of its award-winning employee engagement program, Increasing Human Effectiveness, or IHE®. The new one-day version of the two-day workshop is designed to deliver the most critical aspects of the curriculum while accommodating participants’ increasingly busy schedules.
EdgeOhio’s Managing Partner Paul Meshanko says “The initial client feedback has been simply extraordinary. By leveraging internet technology and revising our delivery format, we’re now able to provide busy managers and executives with the same proven staff development benefits they've come to depend on, but in a single-day format".
IHE® is an employee engagement process designed to leverage an organization’s culture to help maximize effectiveness and productivity. It also helps to greatly improve both employee motivation and retention by targeting individual attitudes, beliefs, expectations and behavior patterns in the workplace. As a training and development tool, many Edge Learning clients claim that IHE positively impacts business performance metrics more than any other “human capital” investment available. Specifically, the IHE curriculum helps organizations:
- Improve overall customer service and satisfaction metrics
- Improve business productivity and profitability
- Increase organizational resilience and adaptability in times of transition
- Develop a culture of accountability and excellence at all levels
- Significantly raise both employee and manager survey scores
Parker-Hannifin Corporation (NYSE:PH), headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, has sent over 3,000 employees through Edge’s IHE in the past six years. According to John Koynock, director of HR for Parker’s Automation Group, “We can attribute some very significant organizational improvements to IHE and the resultant changes in both attitude and employee empowerment. For example, we acquired a company that had a critical manufacturing facility in Nebraska which required quick assimilation into Parker’s culture, business systems and operating protocol. Using a grant from the state, we sent all employees through IHE. The results were remarkable, with employees gaining a greater sense of commitment and a willingness to seek out and implement new approaches, most importantly, lean manufacturing. Productivity gains and improved product quality actually resulted in the hiring of additional staff and expansion at the facility.” Koynock and his senior executives are among many who have seen the benefits of EdgeOhio’s programs and who continue to implement them.
Other organizations that have used IHE to drive change in their organizations include: BASF, Starbucks Coffee, Home Depot Supply, The Cleveland Clinic, AT&T, Microsoft, and the U.S. Postal Service.
Employees complete IHE® with a renewed sense of purpose, a better attitude toward change in their workplace and a mission to share this new knowledge with fellow employees. More importantly, organizations reap the rewards of a better motivated and focused workforce.
The one-day version of the course includes pre-work exercises that participants complete online one week before the actual class date. “There are three units of instruction, including streaming video modules, that take about 20 minutes each to complete,” according to Meshanko. “The pre-work serves two important purposes. First, it familiarizes participants with the Edge Learning style and pace of the program. More importantly, it engages them in crucial self-reflection pertaining to their own performance and current comfort zones. Once we get to the classroom, they already understand the main learning objectives and are primed for an extraordinary one-day learning experience.”

METAULLICS SYSTEMS partners with EDGEOHIO to get "LEAN".
CLEVELAND, Ohio, November 17, 2006-- Metaullics Systems, a Solon,
Ohio based manufacturer of technology products for the hostile molten
and corrosive chemical industries, is partnering with Cleveland-based
consulting and staff development firm EdgeOhio, to improve its
manufacturing and administrative processes. “This in not an attempt to
fix something that’s broken”, said David Eichenmiller, Metaullics’
Manager of Engineering and Quality. “It is an opportunity to get ahead
of the game by reviewing and evaluating internal processes and
discovering new efficiencies and opportunities for quality improvement.”
Metaullics originally approached EdgeOhio, a firm specializing in
workforce engagement and culture development, to examine both their
internal processes and cultural barriers to improvement. Edge, in turn,
partnered with Tennessee-based Aslinger & Associates to help develop the
Lean manufacturing/process improvement component of the program.
Eichenmiller says that the combination of classroom instruction, site
evaluations and personal coaching will help Metaullics improve its
industry-leading position by improving and streamlining internal
processes, tapping into its workers’ ideas and creating a stronger
atmosphere of innovation. “We wanted an external viewpoint and
examination of our operations that would allow us to overcome internal
barriers that often hamper production. The efforts of EdgeOhio and
Aslinger will help us minimize resistance to change, find new and better
ways of doing things and create a culture where people want to do their
best.”
